List Tab
The List Tab displays the list of schedules. Schedules consist of items from the Models Module, Portfolio Module, Meter Groups Module, and Schedule Modules. Each Schedule consists of a set of Contributors. The Contributors can be any of the following:
Distributed Energy Resources – a forecast from the DER module
Model – the top-level model forecast or an alternative scenario forecast
Schedule – another schedule from the Schedules module
Portfolio – a forecast from the Portfolio module.
Five Minute Model – the top-level model forecast or a alternative scenario forecast
Circuit – A circuit forecast from the Projects module
The list of Contributors to a schedule can be displayed/hidden by pressing the expand (+) or contract (-) buttons on the Schedule row.
Schedules are created, deleted, and modified using the Add, Delete, Insert Contributor, and Remove Contributor actions. Contributors may be a model, portfolio, five-minute model, or another schedule. Because a schedule can be a contributor to another schedule, schedules may be nested allowing for multiple levels of aggregation.
Beginning in Version 7.0, Models and Five Minute Models support Forecast Weight Sets. Each alternative in a weight set represents a specific combination of weather provider and XDriver scenario. A forecast is generated for each scenario, and as an option, a top-level forecast is generated as a weighted average of the scenarios. When a model contributor is added to the schedule, the Browse dialog will display a list of the forecasts that are available for that model, with the top-level forecast listed first and with alternative forecasts listed and identified by the name that is assigned to each alternative in the weight set.
Information Fields
The following information fields are shown on the List tab. These fields show the calculation state and the date/time of the last calculation. A detailed explanation of the remaining fields is located in Schedule Properties on the General Tab.
- Needs Calculation. The Needs Calculation column indicates the calculation state of the Schedule. When Needs Calculation is green, the Schedule is current, and no action is required. When Needs Calculation is yellow, the Schedule is not current and must be recalculated. To recalculate the schedule, select the Forecast action (Schedule Actions) on the Toolbar or from the Action menu.
- Last Forecast. This field shows the date and time of the last Schedule forecast calculation.
Contributor Weighting
The Schedule forecast is the weighted sum of the contributors’ forecasts. In addition to the contributor weights, a set of XDriver modifiers can also be applied at the contributor level. These fields are located in the Contributors grid when the Schedule is expanded.
- Weight Parameter. The Weight parameter multiplies the contributor by this numerical setting prior to being summed into the schedule. This parameter allows for varying weights across contributors. A weight of 1.0 passes the Contributor forecast directly through to the Schedule.
- XDriver Overrides. Beginning in Version 7.0, schedules support the same three XDriver modification options as models: Adder, Multiplier, and Override. These are specified separately for each contributor to the schedule. The modifiers are applied to the contributor forecast, and the adjusted forecasts are then weighted across contributors to generate the schedule forecast. To assign an XDriver, select the appropriate cell on the contributor row and click on the ellipsis. For each modifier, this will bring up the list of XDrivers that qualify to be used as the selected type of modifier (Adder, Multiplier, Override). Select the XDriver to use, press the Use Selected Button and press OK to install.
