Schedule Actions
The following common Actions are available on in the Schedule Module.
- Edit (Schedule Properties).
- Add.
- Delete.
- Duplicate.
- Insert Contributor.
- Remove Contributor.
- Commit Item Forecast to Master.
- Refresh Item Forecast from Master.
The following actions can be only taken in the Schedule Module
- Forecast.
- Publish.
- Export Forecast to XML.
- Install Published Forecast.
- Find Similar Days.
- Select Manual Similar Day.
- View Similar Days Statistics.
These actions are described below.
Forecast
The Forecast command generates a forecast for the selected Schedule. When manually executed, the Schedule is always recalculated. When executed as a task (Manage Tasks), the Schedule is only recalculated when the Last Forecasted field date is less that the current date.
Publish
The Publish command saves the Schedule Forecast as Published data into the system database. These data may be accessed as the Published series in the Schedule Module or through the MetrixIDR Standard Table-Based interfaces.
Export Forecast to XML
The Export Forecast to XML command exports the forecast data in XML format the location specified in the Server Manager, System Settings, MetrixIDR Services, Integration section. This action invokes the Export Forecasts dialog which allows the user to specify the export schedules and date range. The Export Forecasts dialog includes the following sections.
- Filter. The Filter box displays subsets of schedules based on the specified filter column. The filter column is set in Server Manager, System Settings, MetrixIDR UI, Schedule List options. For example, if the PublishFilterColumn is set to “Custom1”, the Filter will show all unique identifiers in the Customer 1 field.
- Comment. The Comment box allows the user to insert a descriptive comment for the exported forecast.
- Edit Window. The Edit Window allows the user to specify the date range of the forecast. When Start Offset is selected the forecast date range is based on the current date/time and adjusted for the offset, length, and units' options. When Start Date is selected, the forecast date range is based on the user specified dates.
- Schedule Selection. This section allows the user to specify the schedules for export. The user may select an Available Schedule and move it to the Selected Schedule box. Only schedules in the Selected Schedule box will be exported. The Select All and Select None buttons may be used for resetting and clearing selections. The Save Selected option retains the export settings.
- Export. The export button initiates the forecast export.
Install Published Forecast
The Install Published Forecast command install a previously published forecast from the Publish action as the forecast in the Forecast Tab. When selected, the Install Published Forecast dialog box is displayed with the following options.
- Install Most Recent Published Forecast. When selected, the most recent published forecast is always selected for installing.
- Selection Box. The selection box present published forecast. Each forecast is listed with a BOD (date of publishing), the user who published the forecast, and any user comments.
- Save to Master. When selected, the selected published forecast is saved to the Master database and is available to all users.
- Install. The Install button initiates the action.
Find Similar Days
The Find Similar Days command will find similar days using the criteria set in the Default Similar Day Parameters dialog located on the System Menu.
Select Manual Similar Day
The Select Manual Similar Day action is only available on the Similar Days Tab. The action allows the user to manually select multiple historic days for comparison. Days are added and removed using the add and delete buttons on the dialog. The Apply to all Schedules option allows the selected similar days to be viewed with all schedules.
View Similar Days Statistics
The View Similar Day Statistics action is only available on the Forecast Tab. This action displays Similar Day statistics for the selected date. Dates are selected using the arrows adjacent to the displayed date.
