Weather Module
The Weather Module displays the historic and forecast weather data used for developing the load forecast and estimating the forecast models. The Module allows the user to configure the weather forecasts, weather stations, weather zones and weather concepts. This view has four tabs, seven tabs in LT Mode:
- Monitor Tab. Displays actual and forecast weather data for the current forecast period.
- Data Tab. Displays all the historic and forecast weather data.
- Daily Data Tab (LT Mode Only). Displays the daily maximum, minimum, and average values for each weather concept.
- Monthly Data Tab (LT Mode Only). Displays the monthly HDD and CDD for each weather station.
- Monthly Scenario Data Tab (LT Mode Only). Displays the monthly HDD and CDD for each weather station and Scenario.
- Scenario Tab. Displays the defined scenario data.
- Statistics Tab. Displays weather forecast performance statistics in a chart.
The Weather Configuration dialogue section allows the user to configure the Module. The Configuration action is available on the Tools Menu. The configuration dialog provides access to the following tabs.
- Weather Concepts Tab. Provides the tools to add, edit, and delete weather concepts.
- Weather Stations Tab. Provides the tools to add, edit, and delete weather stations.
- Weather Zones Tab. Provides the tools to add, edit, and delete weather zones.
- Weather Regions Tab. Provides the tools to add, edit, and delete weather regions.
- Weather Groups Tab. Provides the tools to add, edit, and delete weather groups.
- Weather Scenarios Tab. Provides the tools to add, edit, and delete weather scenarios.
- Weather Forecasts Tab. Provides the tools to add, edit, and delete weather forecasts.
- Weather Validation Parameters Tab. Provides the tools to add, edit, and delete monthly weather validation parameters.
- LT Weather Scenarios Tab (LT Mode Only). Provides the tools to add, edit, and delete LT Weather Scenarios.
Beginning in Version 7.1, the Weather module support multiple MPIs, including 5, 10, 15, 30, and 60. Weather data at any MPI can be converted to another MPI for use in modeling. For MetrixND custom Models, the number of fields on the MetrixND data table that corresponds to the concepts will determine the periodicity of the weather data sent to the model. For regression models, HDD and CDD are computed from the interval weather data.
The data can be viewed in any desired periodicity in the weather module using the MPI selector.
