Data Tab
The Data Tab shows historical and forecasted weather data for the selected Weather Zone/Station and Weather Concept. Selection boxes on the toolbar control the displayed data. The first box presents the list of weather stations and weather zones. The second box selects the weather concept. A third selection box controls the display of weather forecasts when multiple weather forecasts are available in the system. The Data tab is divided into two panels. The top panel (Chart View) graphically displays the data. The bottom panel (Grid View) numerical displays the data. The full range of forecast data is available for viewing. However, the displayed range is based on the Zoom, Date Range, and the Data Range Selection bar.
Chart View
For the selected weather station/zone and concept, the following series are displayed.
- Reading. This is the actual data.
- Forecast. This is the forecast data
- Other. When a Weather Zone is selected, the Others are different configured weather zones. When a Weather Station is selected, the Others are different weather stations.
- Default. This is the default Weather Provider.
- Normal. This is normal weather data and displayed when Forecast data are missing.
- Bad. This displays any data point marked with a Bad status.
- Filled. This displays any data point marked with a Filled (edited value) status.
These series and data status markings may be toggled on or off using the check boxes in the upper right corner of the chart. Data points are viewed by selecting the chart and moving the mouse over the chart.
Grid View
Numerical data for the selected weather station/zone and concept are displayed below the Chart. Values are colored using the same colors as the series in the Chart View. If actual or forecasted data are available, they are displayed in the grid. If actual or forecasted data are not available, but normal data are available, then normal data are displayed in the grid. Filled data are user edited data and are displayed within the grid with a dark background. Data marked as bad are displayed in brown. Only station-level data can be edited or marked as bad. Station-level edits will flow through to any zones that include the station as a contributor. Edits to weather data are saved to the database and impact all users.
When multiple weather forecasts are available, by default the forecast of record (e.g., the source of actual values) is displayed by default. The drop-down box on the tool bar can be used to select other weather forecasts to display in the grid.
