Weather Concepts Tab

Weather concepts are used in the forecast and model estimation process. These concepts (e.g. dry bulb temperature, dew point temperature) are defined and configured in the Weather Concepts Tab . The tab contains the following fields:

  • Weather Concept ID. The weather concept identifier. Because weather data may be used by MetrixND in the forecasting process, the weather concept identifier should be consistent with MetrixND table naming conventions. These conventions include the following rules.
    • No spaces in the name of the concept.
    • Name may not start with a number.
    • Name may not include any special characters.
  • Description. This is the description field.
  • Import ID. The unique identifier used to find weather concept data when importing data.
  • Stock Concept ID. The identifier used for finding weather based similar days and to identify concepts for use in calculated weather concepts.
  • Computed Concept ID. To define a computed concept, select the desired computed concept.
  • Aggregation Method. Specify the method to use for aggregating or disaggregated weather data. For example, for temperature, to go from 15-minute temperature data to hourly temperature data, specify Average to average the values for the hour. For Precipitation, specify Sum to sum the values for the hour.
  • Decimals. The number of decimal places to use when viewing data.
  • UOM. The units of measure. Depending on the value of the Stock Concept and Computed Concept assigned, the list may be limited to a set of specific values, if not limited the user may enter any text string.
  • Display Order. The display order number.
  • Threshold1. Not currently implemented.
  • Ramp Threshold1. Not currently implemented.
  • Threshold2. Not currently implemented.
  • Ramp Threshold2. Not currently implemented.
  • Export. This field indicates whether to export data for this weather concept when the ExportWeather (Integration (Table-Based Exports)) task is executed.
  • Send to Monitor. In systems with the Forecast Monitor Module, this field indicates whether to send data for this weather concept to Forecast Monitor.
  • Configuration Panes. The pane to display the data on the Monitor Tab.
  • Configuration Axis. The axis to display the data on the Monitor Tab.
  • Configuration Color. The color to display the data on the Monitor Tab.
  • Configuration View Type. The chart type for the data on the Monitor Tab.
