Adding configuration data

This topic provides general instructions for adding a new configuration. You can configure the following types of entities in IEE:

• Account entity

• Customer entity

• Meter entity

• Combined meter entity

• Premise entity

• Route entity

• Service point entity

• Service point channel entity

If you plan to add several similar configuration entities, create a Configuration templates as you add the first entity. Then you can use the template to speed up the process.

To add configuration entities:

1. Go to Meter Data Management > Application Data > Advanced Configuration > Add and double click an entity type (Account, Customer, Meter, Configuring service points, and so forth). A new line item displays showing the new entity type with a next to it.

2. Click the new entity. A check mark appears next to the entity and a tab displays at the bottom of the window showing the edit fields (ID, Description, etc.).

3. Enter the required values for the new configuration entity.

   If you are adding a new service point, only use alphanumeric characters. Do not include special characters such as -(dash) and & (ampersand).

4. (Optional) In the toolbar at the top of the IEE window, click the camera icon to create a Configuration templates. Name the template and click OK to save it to the template list for future use.

5. Click Save.

6. (Optional) Right-click the new entity to perform additional configuration tasks associated with this entity type; allowable tasks vary depending on the entity type.
