Configuration templates

Use Configuration Templates to create a snapshot of an existing configuration, complete with Service Points, Service Point Channels, Meters, and the other entities that typically form an IEE configuration. Configuration Templates provide a structure upon which new configurations can be created. You can save and reuse Configuration Templates, making it easy to create multiple configurations that share a common structure.

Configuration Templates are usually created in the Configuration Maintenance window, either from an existing configuration structure or from a newly created structure. You can select from all the configurations that exist in your IEE environment in the Configuration Maintenance window, and use any of them to create a new configuration template.

New configuration templates can also be created in the Configuration Templates window, but only from existing templates since this window displays only existing templates. In the Configuration Templates window, existing templates are reconfigured and then saved as a new template.

Use the Configuration Templates window to perform the following functions:

• Building configurations from existing templates by modifying the existing template and saving it as a new one.
• Creating a configuration template an existing template.
