Account entity
The account entity represents the contractual relationship between a customer and one or more quantities that are delivered at one or more service points.
An account is referenced by its account number. Most billing systems use account numbers as the primary mechanism to track loads and revenues. Account numbers are often tied to reading logistics, customer move‑ins and move‑outs, and other changes. For this reason, they are not a good mechanism for reference by analytical users of the data.
In the utility industry, an account is also called a contract.
