Data routing program
A data routing program is used to route channel data in different directions, for different purposes. With a routing program, you can accomplish the following:
-
Define a revenue channel for data to be discarded.
-
Define attributes for non-revenue channel data to be discarded.
-
Define a revenue channel for data to be imported through Standard Reading Import - Enhanced regardless of the service point configuration settings.
-
Define a channel for data to be distributed externally.
Note: When working with a channel set, all channels in a given set are routed in the same direction.
Accessing the data routing program dialog
-
Go to Meter Data Management > Application Data > Program Based Configuration > Program Configuration Manager.
-
Click the Data Routing tab.
From the Data Routing tab, you can do the following:

Create a routing program that specifies routing configuration information for one or more channels of interval or register data. Create a program when you want to manage channel data differently than using the traditional ARI processing path. Without a data routing program, service point channel data is delivered to IEE using the traditional revenue data processing methodology.
-
Go to Meter Data Management > Application Data > Program Based Configuration > Program Configuration Manager.
-
Click the Data Routing tab.
-
Click New.
Definitions for all entity types can be found in the IEE Program-Based Configuration XML API Guide.
-
Configure the following parameters:
Program Summary
Program ID.Identifies the program.
Description. Text description of the program.
Modified By. This field is view only. The user ID of the last user to modify the program.
Last Modified. This field is view only. The date and time of the last modification.
Data Program Channels. This pane lists the data channels associated with the program. You can create, edit, and delete data channels.
To create a new channel, click Create. For more information about creating a new channel, see Configuring a routing program channel.
-
Click Save as XML to save the program as an .xml type file outside of IEE.

UOM. Programs with channels that have a specific UOM. Select from the list of possible UOM values.
-
Click Add Row to add an additional row of filter criteria.
-
Click Remove Row to remove a row of filter criteria.
-
Click Apply to apply the filter criteria and close the filter dialog.

You can copy an existing data routing program to create a new program.
To copy a data routing program:
-
Go to Meter Data Management > Application Data > Program Based Configuration > Program Configuration Manager.
-
Select the Data Routing tab.

Click Save or Save & Close to save the program.

You can specify a routing program for all service point channel (SPC) instance assignments. This removes the need to specify the routing program during each SPC assignment. Defining a default routing program is optional, and when a default routing program is specified, you can overwrite that choice by specifying a different routing program during SPC instance assignment.
To specify a default data routing program for future service point instance assignments:
-
Create a Data routing program or verify that the program exists.
-
Create a Creating a service point program from the Program Configuration Manager screen, or display an existing program.
The Service Point Program dialog appears.
-
From the Service Point Program dialog, specify the default data routing program in the Data Routing Program field.
-
Click Save or Save & Close to save the program.
The default data routing program that you specified here is displayed on the Configuration Maintenance >Service Point View > Data Routing view.
Tip: You can override the default program assignment at the instance level. For more information, see Overriding the default data routing program selection.

You may use an existing program as a starting point for creating a new program. To find an existing program, use the Filter/search option.
-
Go to Meter Data Management > Application Data > Program Based Configuration > Program Configuration Manager.
-
Select an existing data routing program from the list and click Edit. The Data Routing Program dialog appears. You can modify the program description and one or more program routing channels.
If a data routing program is assigned to a service point instance, changes to the program will not be validated against the parameters specified in the service point instance configuration. If a mismatch occurs, the data routing functionality will not be performed.
-
Select a routing program channel and click Edit. The Routing Program Channel dialog appears. You can modify any of the fields on this screen. For more information about these fields see, Configuring a routing program channel.
-
Click Save as XML to save the program as an .xml type file outside of IEE.
