Manage Security Roles
The Manage Security Roles dialog has a single tab, Security Roles. This tab displays the mapping of Action Roles and Access Roles to Security Roles. In this tab, users are assigned to Security Roles which provide access to the system functions.
Security Roles Tab has the following properties.
- Security Role ID. Security Role identifier.
- Public Role. This checkbox indicates whether a role is public and accessible by all users. If this option is selected, both the assigned Access Role and Action Role must have names, such as EVERYONE, that are public security principals in the Windows OS.
- Description. Description of role.
- Priority. Assigns a priority to the specified role.
- Action Role. The assigned Action Role.
- Access Role. The assigned Access Role.
To add a Security Role, select the Add action and assign all the tab fields.
Managing Users
Users are assigned to each Security Role. Users are individuals or Active Directory Groups and are displayed as Contributors to each Security Role. Assignment of Users to Security Roles is performed by using the Insert Contributor action on the toolbar. This action invokes the Add Users dialog. Clicking Advanced will open the Select Users or Groups dialog. Enter or search for the user names or domain groups. Use the Check Names button to ensure the names are correct before clicking OK.
