AMI connect disconnect

Use AMI Connect Disconnect to disconnect or reconnect a recording device remotely or with the help of an on-site service technician.

IEE can execute the request immediately or schedule the request for a future date and time.

Note: Security role permissions are required for AMI > Connect Disconnect and Communications > Remote Disconnect to enable AMI Connect Disconnect from the AMI workbench.

1. Enter a Meter ID or use the Using the search utility.

   After selecting a meter ID, place the cursor over the Gear icon () to view the meter's capabilities. If a meter ID is not specified, meter capabilities are not applicable.

   The Connect and Disconnect parameters are only enabled when the selected Meter ID supports that capability. All of the parameters on this screen are disabled until you select a meter.

2. Select Requires User Intervention to connect at the request of an on-site service technician.

   Note: Verify that the on-site meter technician presses the AMI (advanced metering infrastructure) button on the meter.

   The progress of the request appears in the Status box.
