Working in the item view

The Item View tab displays the individual items within each AMI Data Export request.

The request item is the “unit of work” in ADE – all data channels under a request item are bound together. All channels export together and are held in exception together.

Use this view to work with request items:

ClosedView the status of individual entities in a request

On the Item View tab, click Filtering the item view. You must first specify filter criteria to populate the grid pane with request items.

If you have accessed the Item View by selecting a row on the Summary View tab, then the original Summary View filter criteria is still in effect.

ClosedFind an entity. Display entities that meet certain search criteria

On the Item View tab, click the Search button, to open the Search Facility.

From the AMI Data Export Item View, you can search for entities in the database:

  1. Click Search.

The Search dialog appears. You can search for any ID in the database or you can search for only those IDs that are linked to the specified Entity ID.

  2. Select Provided Entity to search for any entity in the database. This search is faster.

  3. Select Linked Entity to search for entities that are linked to the specified Entity ID, and provide that ID in the Entity ID field.

  4. From the dropdown menu, select the Entity Type.

ClosedManually add an export request from the Item View tab

On the Item View tab, click the Adding a new request button.

ClosedView item counts by exception and by status

Two panes at the top of the Item View screen show the number of request items and the percentage of items in both an exception state and in a specific status.

ClosedControl the auto-refresh rate of the screen or force a manual refresh of the screen

From the Refresh Rate dropdown, in the upper right corner of the screen, select the number of minutes between an automatic refresh of this screen, or click to manually refresh the screen anytime.

Actions on Single Items

The following options are only enabled on the right-click menu when a single item is selected.

ClosedAccess the Summary View

  • Right-click one request item in the Item View and select Summary View, or
  • Click the Summary View tab at the top of the screen.

ClosedView Item Details

Double-click one or more rows in the Item View grid, or highlight one or more rows in the Item View grid and click the Item details tab button.

ClosedView request item properties

Right-click one request item in the Item View and select View Item Properties.

The Request Item Properties dialog displays all the properties related to the request, properties related to the export process, and queue properties. A list of error messages related to the exception are displayed in the bottom pane. There is also an area for you to add your own notes.

ClosedView previous exceptions associated with a request item

Right-click one request item in the Item View and select View Previous Exceptions.

ClosedView the export history for a request item

Right-click one request item in the Item View and select View Export History.

ClosedExport the request item data to Microsoft Excel

Right-click one or more request item in the Item View and select Export to Excel. You are prompted to save the RequestList.xls file.

Actions for Items in an Exception State

For requests in an Exception state, you can do the following:

(A request is in the Exception state if the Exception column has a value greater than equal to 1.)

ClosedMitigate any issues with a request from the exception queue

From the Item View you can see specific request items that are in an exception state, with their exception category. This is often enough information to mitigate the problem. If you need further details about the exception, highlight the item in exception and click Item Details.

  1. From the Item View, click Filter.
  2. Specify the Exception request status.

The Exception Queue displays all items within the request that are in an exception state.

ClosedFilter request items in an exception state by date, by owner, or by both

You can filter request items by an exception status, for a specified date range, and associated with a specific owner.

  1. From the Item View, click Filter.
  2. From the Request Item Filter dialog, specify the date range, select the Exception request status, and select the owner.

ClosedEdit the queue properties for an exception item

Right-click one or more request items in the Item View and select Edit Queue Properties. All items must be in the Exception state.

From the Edit Queue Properties dialog, you can assign an owner to the request, specify a queue status, and add notes. The Owner field displays a list of all IEE users in the ItronIdenity database table.

For more information about configuring queue statuses, see Data export queue status.

ClosedAccept an exception

Right-click one or more request items in the Item View and select Manually Accept. All items must be in the Exception state.

From the Accept Exceptions dialog, you can choose from a list of user-defined reasons for the acceptance and provide notes on why the exception was accepted.

This updates the status of the request to Exception Accepted, and no further processing is performed. This status is used mainly to remove requests (and request items) out of the filter-by-exception.

For more information about configuring Resolution Reasons, see Data export resolution reason.

ClosedReprocess an exception

Right-click one or more request item in the Item View and select Submit for Reprocess. All items must be in the Exception state.
