System Monitor Configuration
The System Monitor Configuration is accessible from the Tools menu. The dialog configures charts and tables for viewing on the Monitor Tab.
Each item is a Report and appears in the Report Selection box on the Monitor Tab Toolbar. Report Contributors define specific series for display. Contributors for each Report are displayed by expanding (+) and contracting (-) the line item.
The following characteristics may be edited for each Report.
- Monitor Report ID. This is the user-defined identifier for the Report configuration.
- Description. This is the description.
- X-Axis Mode. This field specifies the periodicity for the X-Axis on the Charts. The periodicity is defined by the drop-down box options.
- X-Axis Duration. The duration specifies the length of time to show in each Chart or Table. If the X-Axis Mode is Hourly, the duration is specified in hours. If the X-Axis Mode is Daily, the duration is specified in days.
- X-Axis Offset. The offset specifies how far back from now (current time) to offset the start of the X-Axis. Periodicity is based upon the X-Axis Mode. For example, if X-Axis Mode is Daily and the X-Axis Offset is -1, the X-Axis starts at midnight on the prior day. If the current time is 4:33 PM, the X-Axis Mode is Hourly, and the X-Axis Offset is -4, the X-Axis starts at noon on the current day.
- Show Legend. This check box displays the legend on the Monitor Tab. If a legend is not configured and the box is checked, a legend is not be displayed.
- Layout. This field controls the arrangement of the charts and tables on the Monitor Tab. The numbers denote the number of charts (or tables) down and across. For example, 3x2 presents 6 charts (or tables) -- three across and two down. The drop-down box provides layout options from ranging from 1x1 to 5x5.
- Custom1 – Custom20. The custom fields may be used to as comments or as sort fields.
Each Report displays Contributors. Contributors are added and removed using the Insert Contributor and Remove Contributor actions. Contributors are selected from the Compare Reports Module and managed on the following two tabs.
