Statistics Tab

This tab provides summary statistics for the comparison data. Accuracy statistics are displayed for the selected Compare ID and Contributor relative to the Contributor identified as Base on the List Tab. The statistics are calculated based on the time period defined by the Date Range property on the List Tab.

For the contributor, the statistics are computed against the defined base contributor. The upper right portion of the tab displays a scatter plot of the interval data with the base contributor on the X-Axis and the interval data for the other contributors on the Y-Axis.

Statistics

Accuracy statistics are reported on a Monthly, Daily and Interval level as shown in three of the four quadrants for the selected contributor. For each quadrant, the same statistics are summarized over the different periodicity. The following statistics are reported.

  • Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD). This statistic gives the mean absolute deviation between the base contributor values and the selected non-base contributor values.
  • Mean Absolute Percent Error (MAPE). The mean absolute percentage error computed from the ratio of the absolute value of the difference between the base and non-base contributor values relative to the base value. This value is ignored should the actual be equal to zero.
  • Average Error. The average of the difference between the base contributor and non-base contributor interval data values.
  • Average Percent Error. The ratio of the average errors to the average value of the base contributor. This value is ignored should the actual be equal to zero.

Correlation Graph

The Correlation Graph in the upper right quadrant displays the selected Contributor plotted against the Base Contributor. The selected Contributor is plotted on the x-axis and the Base Contributor is plotted on the y-axis.

Actions

The following common chart controls and actions are available on the Statistics Tab in the View Menu and on the Toolbar:

The following action is only available in the Compare Report on the tool bar or Tools menu. The actions is used to add multiple contributors to a Compare ID.
