SetChannel

The SetChannel element inserts or updates the configuration of a channel of reading data that is being measured by a meter. An electric meter can have multiple channels.

You are not required to put in all channels of data for each meter. Just put one channel in the file. Use ChannelNumber = 1 and Unit = <one of the units on the meter>. Collection Manager does not need these channels, it will create the channels for electric meters automatically. You need the set channel to get to the set device which is were the ESN is.

Itron recommends that you do not set multiple channels. If you must set multiple channels, use multiple SetChannel elements, specifying the same SetDevice information for each channel.
