MTS Services

Accessible from the main menu under Administration, the MTS services interface enables MTS administrators to view information about the services registered in the environment. MTS runs via a set of services, each of which runs one or more processes. Many of the processes are specific to one of the MTS modules. For example, the Interval MDD process is used only with the Meter Data module.

Every service type has a limited number of active services configured in the environment. For initial installation, this number is set to 1 per service type. This default value ensures that when initial installation is performed, all single instances of the services are preconfigured and able to start basic processes. It also ensures that the entire environment (basic single-server environment) is ready for operation immediately after the installation is complete. Every additional service instance that is created in the environment will start with no associated processes. These new services must be configured in MTS.
