Creating a configuration template

You can create configuration templates based on existing configuration structures.

Note: As an alternative to the following procedure, you can open an existing configuration and click the camera icon; this creates a new template based on the open configuration.

  1. Go to Application Data > Configuration > Configuration Templates or click the Configuration Templates icon () in the toolbar.
  2. Select Application Data > Configuration > Add, and then select the configuration entity to add. This opens a Configuration Maintenance window where you configure the entity and use it to create a template.
  3. Enter appropriate configuration information in the editable fields at the bottom of the Configuration Maintenance window.

Note: A red X preceding an entity indicates that changes are not saved and that the data for that entity failed validation. An exclamation point next to the corresponding field in the lower pane shows where the error exists. Mouse over the exclamation point to view the exact error message.

  4. Click Save to store the new configuration in the database.

Note: Templates cannot be saved if Routes are attached to Service Points.

  5. Click the camera icon , on the toolbar at the top of the window, to create a new template based upon the configuration you just created.
  6. Enter a name for the new template.
  7. Optional:  Enter a description for this template.
  8. Click OK to save the template.
