Map view
Events and alarms listed in the Device events table can be plotted on a map for entries with latitude and longitude coordinates. Latitude and longitude coordinates are derived from service point data. The filters currently applied to the table view also apply to the map.
Tip: By default, the Latitude and Longitude columns are hidden in the table view, but events with latitude and longitude coordinates appear on the map regardless of the table view. For an accurate summary of mappable events, you can add these columns to the table with the Show columns feature, available from the Actions menu ().
The default format is table view. To switch from table view to map view, click Table () in the page header and select Map.
In map view, the standard map controls enable you to change the view:
-
Press the arrow keys or drag the map to nudge the view in any direction.
-
SelectSatellite to switch to satellite imagery. Select Map to switch back to street-map view.
-
To zoom in, select Plus (+) or press the plus key. To zoom out, select Minus (-) or press the minus key. You can also rotate your mouse's scroll wheel while hovering over the map.
While viewing the map, you can adjust the Filters () to refine your view in the same way that you can adjust the filters from the table view. For more information, see Device events filters .
Events and alarms are shown on the map with the following icons:
-
Event (
) Indicates the presence of events only (no alarms). Select the icon to reveal a dialog with device and event information.
-
Alarm (
). Indicates the presence of at least one alarm, even if events are also present. Select the icon to reveal a dialog with device, event, and alarm information.
Tip: Dialogs span multiple pages up to five events. Select the left and right arrows to scroll through the available event and alarm data for the device. In the case of more than five events, switch to table view for all event details.
To switch from map view to table view, click Map () in the page header and select Table.
