Tools Menu

The Tools Menu includes the following commands.

  • Truncate Event Log.
  • Clear Event Log.
  • Clear All Tasks Generated by the Current User.
  • Clear All User Generated Tasks Generated.

These commands are described below.

Truncate Event Log

The Truncate Event Log action deletes all records older than N days, where N is the number of days specified in the Event Log To Keep system parameter in the System Settings, System Parameters Tab. When this command is selected, a message box appears asking if the user would like to export the entries to Excel before continuing. The message options are described below.

  • Cancel. Cancel will exit the message box without truncating any entries from the Event Log.
  • No. No will truncate the log and continue without saving the truncated entries to Excel.
  • Yes. Yes will export the truncated entries and export the truncated entries to Excel. A Save As dialog box will allow the user to specify the file name and path for the Excel file.

Clear Event Log

The Clear Event Log action deletes all Event Log entries. When this command is selected, a message box appears asking if the user would like to export the entries to Excel before continuing. The message options are described below.

  • Cancel. Cancel will exit the message box without deleting any entries from the Event Log.
  • No. No will truncate the log and continue without saving the deleted entries to Excel.
  • Yes. Yes will export the truncated entries and export the deleted entries to Excel. A Save As dialog box will allow the user to specify the file name and path for the Excel file.

Clear All Tasks Generated by the Current User

The Clear All Tasks Generated by the Current User command will delete all Event Log entries created by the Current User. When this command is selected, a message box appears asking if the user would like to export the entries to Excel before continuing. The message options are described below.

  • Cancel. Cancel will exit the message box without deleting any entries from the Event Log.
  • No. No will truncate the log and continue without saving the deleted entries to Excel.
  • Yes. Yes will export the truncated entries and export the deleted entries to Excel. A Save As dialog box will allow the user to specify the file name and path for the Excel file.

Clear All Tasks User Generated Tasks

The Clear All User Generated Tasks command will clear all Event Log entries created by Users. When this command is selected, a message box appears asking if the user would like to export the entries to Excel before continuing. The message options are described below.

  • Cancel. Cancel will exit the message box without deleting any entries from the Event Log.
  • No. No will truncate the log and continue without saving the deleted entries to Excel.
  • Yes. Yes will export the truncated entries and export the deleted entries to Excel. A Save As dialog box will allow the user to specify the file name and path for the Excel file.
