System Parameters Tab

The System Parameters tab provides access to the legacy system parameters. The system parameters apply to all users of the system and should be modified with care.

Included in this dialog box are the following:

  • Lag Days. This parameter is used to determine the number of additional days of weather data that are required to construct lagged weather variables used to capture temperature buildup effects.
  • Lead Days. Specifies the number of days of weather data (forecast) required after the End Date. (For example, this is useful, when a model requires the early hours of the next day’s weather forecast to forecast the current day).
  • Cut Point Defaults. This group of parameters sets the default heating and cooling degree-day variable cut points to be used in the specification of simple regression models that use weather.
  • Event Log to Keep. When the Truncate Event Log action is taken, this parameter determines the time scope of the delete action. For example, if it is set to 3, all entries that are more than three days old will be deleted.
  • Data Statistics Calculation Length. This parameter specifies the number of days to include in the Data Statistics Calculations. If left blank, all days will be included in the calculation.
  • Gas Day Begins. This parameter is used to set the start hour for a 24-hour period that defines a gas day. It is used when aggregating Meter Groups and Schedules that are configured to use Gas Day aggregation.
  • Gas Heat Rate. This parameter defines the heat content of gas for use in unit of measure conversions.
  • Use Gas Day for Weather Calcs. This parameter redefines daily weather based on the gas day begins parameter. This parameter is only used in the Similar Day look up features.
  • Shrink Projects on Estimation. When checked, this parameter indicates that when a model is estimated that the MetrixND project file is compressed when saved.
  • Save Estimation Results. When checked, this parameter indicates that when a model is estimated that estimation predicted and residual results should be saved to the database, to allow viewing at a later date. Not checking this box will improve model estimation execution time dramatically, as results will not need to be inserted into the database.
  • Default Calibration Holiday Set. This parameter specifies the default holiday set to use for model back calibration.

  • Time Zone. This parameter specifies the time zone of the data in MetrixIDR. This parameter is used to convert time zones on import of data.
  • Store as Local Time. When checked, this parameter indicates that imported data will be stored in local time.
