Manage Alerts
The Manage Alerts dialog allows the user to set up alerts for various system conditions. To access the Manage Alerts Dialog, select the Manage Alerts option from the System Menu.
The Manage Alerts dialog consists for three window panes. The top pane is a list of Alerts configured in the system. List displays the following fields.
- AlertID. This is the Alert identifier.
- Comment. This is the comment or description field for the Alert.
- Last Executed. This the date and time of the last Alert execution.
- Last Result. This field indicates whether the Alert successfully ran. A green check indicates a successful run. A red 'x' indicated an error.
- Enabled. This activates the Alert.
- Send to Monitor. This option sends the Alert to Forecast Monitor Module.
- Alert Type. This is the Alert Type as described below.
The lower left pane displays the list of Alert errors, if any. The list may be sorted. When an error is selected, the full text description of the error is shown in the lower right pane.
Adding an Alert
To add an Alert, select Add Alert action from the Alert menu or on the toolbar. This action will open the Add Alert dialog. The dialog lists all Alert Types by category. Descriptions of each Alert and their configuration requirements is included in the Alert Types section. After selecting the Alert, select the Configure button. This action brings up the Configure Alert dialog. While the specific options for each Alert varies, the following options appear for every alert type:
- AlertID. This is the Alert identifier.
- Active. This activates the Alert.
- Send to Monitor. This option sends the Alert to Forecast Monitor Module.
- Descr. This is the comment or description field for the Alert.
- Filter Criteria. The lower section of the dialog contains the Alert criteria. Criteria are configured based on the Alert Type.
When completed, select OK to save the Alert.
Actions
The following commands are available from the Manage Alerts dialog toolbar and Alert menu.
- Add Alert. This action brings up the Add Alert dialog.
- Edit Alert. This action brings up the Edit Alert dialog for the selected Alert.
- Delete Alert. This deletes the selected Alert(s) from the system.
- Enable Alert. This enables the selected Alert(s) and flags them as active.
- Disable Alert. This disables the Alert(s) and flags them as inactive.
- Clear Events. This removes all events for the selected Alert(s).
- Run Alert. This executes the selected Alert.
- Refresh. This refreshes the Manage Alerts dialog.
