Installing the FDM Mobile Application on a Handheld

Installing the FDM mobile application on a handheld involves copying the Fdm.FC300.zip file (see Downloading the FDM Application Files) to the correct location on the handheld (see Copying the FDM application files to the handheld).

Before copying the folder to the handheld, make sure of the following:

  • The handheld's PC Connection setting is enabled. See Configuring the handheld’s PC connections, below.
  • The handheld is turned on and connected by a USB cable to the host computer on which the extracted \Fdm folder containing the FDM application files resides.

Alternatively, the handheld may be docked in a desk dock communications cradle that is connected to the host computer by a USB cable. See the FC300 Docks User Guide.

  • Mobile device synchronization software, such as Microsoft ActiveSync® or Windows Mobile Device Center, is installed and running on the host computer.

See the synchronization software developer’s user documentation for instructions on how to install and use it.
