Check Endpoint

Use Check Endpoint to retrieve and view basic information stored in a 100 series enhanced security capable module, including the meter reading (100G DLS, 100G ICS, 100W+ series, and 100T-HON modules), voltage readings (100T-CP modules), valve information (100T-GGRD modules), tamper values, leak sensor information, and programmed parameters. For gas meters and modules, Check Endpoint also retrieves the PCOMP, GDT Rate, and GDT Interval.

For Itron's multi-mode capable endpoints and meters that are operating in Mobile mode (all Intelis Gas Meters, OpenWay Riva 500G ERT Modules, Itron Cellular 500G and 500W Modules, Gen5 500G ERT Modules, OpenWay Riva 500W ERT Modules, and Gen5 500W ERT Modules) use Check Endpoint to retrieve and view basic information stored in the module, including the endpoint or meter reading, the programmed meter configuration, and security state.

For CENTRON R450 Advanced/Bridge Meters operating in Mobile mode, Check Endpoint also retrieves switchover status, lock level, and indicates whether the meter is scheduled to be switched from Mobile (ChoiceConnect) mode to OpenWay mode.

You must have Check Endpoints permission to perform this function.

The following diagram summarizes the procedure for the CENTRON R450 Advanced/Bridge meter operating in Mobile (ChoiceConnect) mode and for 100G DLS, 100G ICS, 100W+ series, 100T-CP, 100T-HON, and 100T-GGRD modules:

The following diagram summarizes the procedure for Itron's multi-mode capable devices that are operating in Mobile mode, including Intelis Gas Meters, Gen5 500G ERT Modules, OpenWay Riva 500G ERT Modules, Itron Cellular 500G and 500W Modules, OpenWay Riva 500W ERT Modules, and Gen5 500W ERT Modules:

An FC300 handheld or a laptop with a 900MHz Belt-Clip Radio or Itron Mobile Radio is required to perform this function.

If the meter is fully secured (see Working with Enhanced Security Capable Endpoints), you must retrieve the necessary secure commands before you can execute this function (see Retrieving Secure Commands from the FDM Server).

If enhanced security is enabled on the module, your FDM security manager may have sent a key exchange command for the module along with the secure commands you retrieved from the server. If so, the mobile application executes the key exchange command before executing any of the secure commands. If you receive an error message indicating a security key mismatch, synchronize your mobile device with the server (see Synchronizing the Mobile Application with the Server) and then perform a Get Commands command (see Retrieving commands from the FDM server). If you still receive the message after performing these steps, contact an Itron customer support representative.
