Read Endpoint

Use Read Endpoint to retrieve and view:

  • Meter reading and tamper values from a 100G DLS, 100G ICS, 100W+ series, 100W ICS, 100T-HON module, or an OpenWay Riva 500G ERT Module that is operating in Mobile (ChoiceConnect) mode.
  • Voltage reading and tamper values from a 100T-CP module.
  • Meter reading, tampers, events, errors, service switch state, and OpenWay switchover status from a CENTRON R450 Advanced/Bridge meter.
  • Both primary and secondary index reads, and whether the primary index is temperature corrected (TC) or non-temperature corrected (NTC), volume under alarm, and tampers from an Intelis Gas Meter or Gen5 Intelis Gas Meter that is operating in Mobile mode.
  • Meter reading, tamper, and battery status information from a Gen5 500G ERT Module or an Itron Cellular 500G Module that is operating in Mobile mode.

You must have Read Endpoints permission to perform this function.

The following diagram summarizes the procedure:

Important!  100T-CP modules require a six-minute settling period after installation before you can collect valid voltage reads from them. They require a one-minute settling period between reads. Reads collected before the required period has passed may contain errors.

The following diagram summarizes the procedure for all Intelis Gas Meters, Gen5 500G ERT Modules, Itron Cellular 500G and 500W Modules, OpenWay Riva 500W ERT Modules, and Gen5 500W ERT Modules that are operating in Mobile mode:

An FC200SR or FC300 handheld or a laptop with a 900MHz Belt-Clip Radio or Itron Mobile Radio is required to perform this function.

If the meter is fully secured (see Working with Enhanced Security Capable Endpoints) you must retrieve the necessary secure commands before you can execute this function (see Retrieving Secure Commands from the FDM Server).

If enhanced security is enabled on the module, your FDM security manager may have sent a key exchange command for the module along with the secure commands you retrieved from the server. If so, the mobile application executes the key exchange command before executing any of the secure commands. If you receive an error message indicating a security key mismatch, synchronize your mobile device with the server (see Synchronizing the Mobile Application with the Server) and then perform a Get Commands command (see Retrieving commands from the FDM server). If you still receive the message after performing these steps, contact an Itron customer support representative.
