Cloning Existing Processes
From a Service Management–Service screen, you can clone all processes running in another instance of the service and add them to the current service. When service processes are cloned, all processes from the selected service are added to the current Service Management–Service screen. For example, if the current service is already running processes A and B, and the selected service to clone from is running processes A and C, then the current service will have two instances of process A, as well as processes B and C.
Note: When cloned items are added to the list, a duplicate TCP Port value is possible. In this case, when the newly cloned record is added, the duplicate TCP Port value is replaced with Enter value placeholder text. You can then edit this row and enter a new value (see Service Management–Service).
To initiate the cloning process, use the following procedure:
- Click the Actions icon (
) in the page header and select Clone existing processes. A dialog box appears.
-
From the Choose a server drop-down menu, select a server.
Note: Only the servers that currently host the selected service are listed in the menu.
- Make sure that the correct service and server are displayed in the Add them to field. This should match the current Service Management–Service page header.
- Click Clone.
- (Optional) Click Refresh (
) in the page header to confirm that the cloned processes are in the list of processes for this service.
