UCE and interactive graphing
Use formulas when setting up a graph using the Interactive Graphing feature. For example, you might use a formula to create what-if scenarios on the fly, such as "what if I aggregated these two channels" or "what if I viewed these channels using a different Unit of Measure."
IEE uses these formulas to create the graph, but it does not store them or the results in the database. You can apply the formula and graph to real or virtual channels.
Note: Verify that you understand how IEE reports on and displays intervals with missing and empty status codes.
Using UCE Formulas in Graphs
-
Follow the steps in Creating an interactive graph.
-
Select Formula instead of Service Point when setting up your graph.
-
Enter the equation directly into the Formula field, or click to launch the Formula Builder dialog.
-
Create the formula. See Using the formula builder to configure an advanced formulafor details.
-
Click OK to close the Formula Builder dialog and add the formula to the graph parameters.
-
-
From the dropdown menu, select a Unit of Measure (UOM) that is compatible with the UOMs used in the formula. UCE automatically Interval length conversion in UCE the result of the formula to this UOM for the graph, although it does not save this value in the database.
-
(Optional) Select a Version Date, which enables you to use channel values from previous versions, rather than the current value, in your calculations.
-
Continue with Creating an interactive graph.
