Properties tab (workgroups)

Use the properties tab to configure a workgroup after adding a new workgroup or when modifying a workgroup.

Configuring the Workgroup Properties

  1. On the Properties tab, click each field to configure the workgroup settings. If an arrow appears along the right edge of the field, click the arrow to select a value from the dropdown menu. Otherwise, you can enter the value into the field.

For example, under Basic, the first field is ID. Click on ID and you will notice that ID is highlighted. You can delete the default text of New Workgroup and type a descriptive ID for the workgroup. The value you enter becomes the workgroup name.

  2. Configure the following parameters:

    • Basic

      ClosedID

Defines a name for the workgroup, such as Admin or Curtailment Operator. Enter a short name. The workgroup's purpose can be more fully explained in the workgroup description field.

      ClosedWorkgroup Description

Defines what the workgroup does more fully than the Workgroup ID. Enter a user-friendly description for the workgroup. For example, you might have a workgroup with the ID Admin and with the description of allows full read-write access to all workbenches.

    • Data

      ClosedAmps

Determines whether primary or secondary amps display in reports. The CT ratio on the interval channel is used in this conversion.

      ClosedFormula Stored

Defines if a Formula Channel, when added to a service point in Configuration Maintenance, is initially designated as stored or non-stored. Select True for stored or False for non-stored.

      ClosedInterval Length

Defines the number of minutes to use for intervals in exported data, in the absence of a specified value for exports and workgroups data. Instead of specifying an interval length here, you can check As Metered. If you select As Metered, then the Interval Length option is inactive.

ClosedNumber of Dials For Register Channel

Defines the default number of dials for a Register Read. Used to turn Register Reads into engineering units. For Registers this is used against the primary read.

      ClosedRolling Interval Length

Defines the length of time over which to average the demand, and allows you to smooth demand. Rolling demand may be required for billing purposes. For example, if the export is for billing, and the customer contract specifies billing on a 60 minute rolling demand for data that is metered in 15 minute intervals, set the Rolling Interval Length to 60. When you export the data, there is an interval value every 15 minutes. However, the value is an averaged demand value over 60 minutes that ends at the time stamp for each 15 minute interval. In this case, the averaged intervals are the current interval plus the three previous intervals.

      ClosedVolts Primary/Secondary

Determines whether primary or secondary voltage display in reports. This calculation uses the PT ratio on the interval channel.

      ClosedApply DST

Determines whether IEE recognizes or ignores Daylight Saving Time (DST) for the workgroup. Select True to use DST. Select False to ignore DST for all users in this workgroup.

      ClosedBilling System Cycle ID

      • Freeform text. Enter user-defined text for the Billing System Cycle ID.

      • Override Default. Selection options are Billing System Cycle IDs from an external billing system table.

      • Valid Schedule ID Only. Selection options are schedule IDs for schedules of Billing type.

GeneralChoose the selection method for the Billing System Cycle ID. This value controls the way the Billing System Cycle ID is selected or entered when Configuring service points:ClosedCompany Name

Enter the company name of the workgroup, used for display in some reports.

      ClosedDate Format

      ClosedEncrypt MV-90 Recording Device Password

Determines whether or not the password fields under the MV90 Recording Device, in the Advanced Configuration tree, are masked. Select True to mask the passwords as they are entered. Select False to display passwords when entered.

      ClosedLanguage

Defines the application language. You can select available languages from the dropdown. Only the installed and supported languages, defined in the system, display in the dropdown. For example, for United States English, select en-US.

ClosedNumber of Days to Retrieve Reading Groups

Defines the default number of days for which IEE retrieves data when using a reading group. This number displays by default in the Reading Group Selection dialog. User can enter a different number to use for a particular instance when selecting a reading group. The default value is 45.

      ClosedSystem Name

Defines the name of the IEE system, typically ItronEE.

      ClosedTime Zone

Defines the master time zone for this workgroup.

    • Graphing

      ClosedDefault Output Intervals as Metered

Defines the default output option for intervals. Select True to select the As Metered checkbox on the Interactive Graphing user interface by default.

      ClosedGraph Type

Sets the default graph type that displays when users open Interactive Graphing on the Meter Data Management workbench.

    • Reports

      ClosedCustom Report Base Directory

Defines the repository for custom report .RPT files. When you run the Custom Report Task Template, the report types for files that reside in this directory are available in the list of Report Types.

      ClosedDigit Grouping

ClosedMax. Events to Retrieve for Device Event Report

      ClosedNumber of Decimals

Defines the number of decimals shown for floating point numbers in reports and interactive graphs. This parameter does not affect the Pulse Multiplier or Meter Multiplier fields in the validation report. Those items are fixed at six decimal places.

      ClosedReport Directory

Defines the default directory to which reports are saved. Enter the file path.

      ClosedReport Extension

Defines the default extension that is applied to saved report files. It controls the format of the output file. Enter the default extension.

      ClosedReport Footer/Header Logo

Defines the path to a graphic that IEE displays in the footer for reports. Enter the file path.

    • Schedules

ClosedPast Number of Months of Occurrences

Defines how many months of past data-driven schedules that will appear in the IEE user interface. For example, if you enter 3, IEE will show all data-driven schedules for any schedule type that occurred in the previous three months, regardless of how many schedules existed in that period. Enter the number of months to display.

    • Validation

      ClosedDefault Printer ID

Defines the path to the default printer for all members of a workgroup.

      ClosedDisplay Pass Validation

Determines whether to display the Validation Report's Detailed Channel pages for channels that have PASSED validation. Typically, the Detailed Channel page is only displayed for those channels that have a status of FAILED or WARNED for the validation rule.

      ClosedValidation Report Directory

Enter the directory path where to save failed validations.

  3. Click Save.
