Setting up a remote interrogation

For more information about manual remote interrogation to Service Mode servers, see Service mode. For more information about resolving remote interrogation exceptions, see Remote interrogation queue.

  1. Go to Meter Data Management > Tools > Data Retrieval > Remote Interrogation.

When you access Remote Interrogation from the IEE Meter Data Management workbench, IEE sets the Task Type to Manual Remote Interrogation Task and the Task Template to DefaultManualRemoteInterrogation.

  2. Select the Recording Device or use the Search function to locate the device to interrogate.

  3. If you selected an MV-90 recording device, Configure the following parameters:

    ClosedSchedule As Inbound

  4. Select the Read Functions and Write Functions to perform during this interrogation. Because this is a manual one-time interrogation, various configuration write options are available that are not available when performing a scheduled (automated) interrogation.

  5. Define the ClosedCommon Task Template Parameters.

  6. Click Run.

Note: Remote interrogation is also accessible from AMI > Processing > AMI Remote Interrogation. When accessed from AMI, IEE sets the Task Template to DefaultAmiRemoteInterrogation.
