Assigning rates by rate schedule

Use this tool to add service points to rate schedules, especially when adding many service points to a specific rate schedule at one time.

  1. Go to Meter Data Management > Rate Assignment > By Rate Schedule.

  2. Enter the rate ID or click Search to use the Using the search utility to locate the rate schedule.

  3. Click Add Service Points.

Your system may be configured for a maximum number of query results. If the rate has more service point rate assignments than the maximum configured value, use the Service Point Filter to narrow your search.

  4. Select one or more service points to be assigned to the rate schedule. Use the Ctrl and Shift keys to select multiple service points. Use the arrow button to move the rates into the Selected Rates column and click OK.

  5. Click a service point in the Service Points list to select it.

  6. Click Edit Properties to assign effective start and end dates. These dates define the time period that this service point is assigned to the rate schedule. You can enter the dates directly into the date fields or click the down arrows to select dates from a calendar.

Note: Effective date and times on rates, bill attributes, and rate assignments are shown relative to the user's workgroup time zone rather than relative to the Service Point time zone. The Service Point time zone is used for bill determinant and rate calculations.

  7. If this rate is the rate the service point is currently using, select Is Current Rate. More than one rate schedule can be designated as a current rate for a service point.

  8. Click OK.

  9. To set additional time periods for this service point to be assigned to the rate schedule, select the rate in the Rates list and click Add Effective Period. Enter the effective start and end dates for the time period. You cannot create additional effective periods for a rate assignment that starts at the beginning of time (the earliest date in IEE) and continues to the end of time (the latest date in IEE). IEE supports contiguous and non-contiguous effective periods. Time periods between rate assignments can be left empty, with no rate assigned at all.

  10. Click OK.

  11. To specify values and effective dates for any bill attributes assigned to the rate schedule, select the rate in the Rates list and click Edit Bill Attributes. If the attribute value type is a string or decimal, the value column grid contains text boxes. If the attribute value type is Boolean or classes, the column contains a dropdown box. If the value type is a date, the grid uses a date control.

Note: Effective date and times on rates, bill attributes, and rate assignments are shown relative to the user's workgroup time zone rather than relative to the Service Point time zone. The Service Point time zone is used for bill determinant and rate calculations.

  12. In the Display column, select whether users are able to see or edit the bill attribute in the IEE web client:

    • Hidden. Do not show this bill attribute in the web client.

    • Display. Display this bill attribute in the web client and allow users to edit it.

    • View Only. Display this bill attribute on the web, but do not allow users to edit it.

  13. Click Save.
