Modifying interval status

Use Modify Interval Status to replace or remove the interval status code associated with the interval data. This edit mode modifies the interval status only. You cannot edit readings in this edit mode.

  1. Go to Meter Data Management > Tools > Editing > Edit Interval Data.

Note: As you move through the editing windows, click Cancel to cancel the process and return to the first window. Click Back to move to the previous window. Click Next to advance to the next window..

  2. Enter a Service Point ID and Service Point Channel (SP Channel #) or use the Search utility to select the service point and channel. If you opened editing and estimation from the Diagnostics window in a queue or monitor, the service point and channel are already populated.

For more information about searching, see Using the search utility.

Note: Some edit modes allow you to make the same edits to other channels simultaneously. If the edit mode includes this feature, IEE presents an Additional Channels window later in the editing process. If you do not want to add any channels, skip the channel selection by clicking Next in the Additional Channels window.

To add channels, click Add Channels to Edit when IEE presents the Additional Channels window. Use the Search utility to select a service point. The available service point channels appear in the Channels to Edit list. Select the checkbox of each channel to include in the edit process. Clear the checkbox to exclude the channel from the edit process. Repeat to add channels from another service point. Click Next to proceed with the edit mode.

  3. Define the time period of the data that you are editing.

    • To define a custom time period, enter a Start Time and End Time.

    • To change the time period fields to Month and Year, select the Select Calendar Months checkbox.

    • To use the time period defined by a reading group, click Reading Groups. For more information about using reading groups, see Reading group selection.

  4. Select the Time Zone of the data from the dropdown list.

  5. Select Modify Interval Status.

  6. Click Next.

  7. The Modify Interval Status window has two panes. Use the Set Status Selections pane to replace existing status values with new status values. Use the Reset Status Selections pane to remove status values.

    ClosedSet Status Selections

    1. In the section of the window labeled Set the following status, select the code or codes to be applied to the selected interval data. For convenience, you can use one of the radio buttons to select All Statuses, Validation Statuses, or Interval Statuses.

    2. Or, to specify one or more status codes, click Select Statuses. A pop up selection window appears where you can check one or more status codes. After checking the desired codes, click OK.

    3. Once the new status code or codes have been selected, you must designate which of the existing status codes to replace. In the section Apply to intervals with existing status of use the radio buttons or the Select Statuses button to specify which existing status codes are to be replaced by the new status codes.

    ClosedReset Status Selections

    1. In the section of the window labeled Reset (clear) the following status, select the code or codes to be cleared. For convenience, you can use one of the radio buttons to select All Statuses, Validation Statuses, or Interval Statuses. Or, to specify one or more status codes, click Select Statuses. A pop up selection window appears where you can check one or more status codes. After checking the desired codes on this window, click OK.

  8. Click Next.

  9. (Optional) Some edit modes allow you to adjust register reads when you edit interval data if the interval channel is linked to a register channel. If the edit mode includes this feature, the editing process includes an Adjust Register Readings window.

If you do not want to adjust register reads, skip register channel selection by clicking Next in the Adjust Register Readings window.

To adjust register reads, select an adjustment mode in the Adjust Register Readings window then click Validate.

Caution: When Correct End Read Values is selected:

    • All options in the Register Readings by Channel section are rendered unavailable.

    • The Use Calculated Read checkbox is, by default, selected. Clearing this checkbox does not cause the options in the Register Readings by Channel section to be made available.

To make the Register Readings by Channel section options available again, or to change your selection, you must go back one screen.

Caution: When Correct End Read Values is selected and:

    • The Use Calculated Read checkbox is selected with a new value specified in the End Reading field, then the Final Editing Comments screen reflects the Use Calculated Read selection as False.

    • When Correct End Read Values is selected and the Use Calculated Read checkbox is cleared, with a new value specified in the End Reading field, then the Final Editing Comments screen reflects the Use Calculated Read selection as False. The original end reading and the corrected end read are displayed.

      • Adjust Start Read Values. IEE calculates a new start read by subtracting the total edited interval usage from the stop read. Click in the cell and enter the new Stop Read, or use the existing stop read. You must click Validate for the adjustment to be made.

      • Adjust Stop Read Values. IEE calculates a new stop read by adding the total edited interval usage to the existing start read or to a start read. Click in the cell and enter the new Start Read, or use the existing start read. You must click Validate for the adjust to be made.

      • Correct End Read Values. IEE replaces the existing stop read with a new stop read that you provide, regardless of the edited interval usage that has accumulated for the period. Click in the cell and enter the new Stop Read.

  10. Click Next. The Review Changes window shows the editing and estimation results on a graph with the original, unmodified data.

  11. (Optional) To view the results in the context of the readings that immediately proceed or follow the edited readings, change the date range shown in the graph. In the Expand View Period pane, enter a new Start Time and End Time, and then click Go.

  12. (Optional) To view the validation results without submitting the edited or estimated data for actual validation, click Preview Validation. To select a validation set other than the default set, clear the Use Default Validation checkbox and click Preview Validation. When prompted, select a different validation set and click OK.

Note: Preview Validation only displays the validation results. It does not save the validation statuses. When the edited interval data is submitted, the validation runs again using the default validation set.

  13. To save changes and remain in the Review Changes window to perform more changes, click Save. When you have completed all changes and are ready to advance to the final step of the Editing and Estimation process, click Save ALL. You cannot return to the Review Changes window after you click Save ALL. Save and Save ALL write the edited data and statuses to the IEE logs but do not save the new values to the IEE database.

  14. In the Final Editing Comments window, review the editing and estimation summary in the Comments pane. This summary is read-only.

Note: The Data Editing and Estimation window cannot be closed until the Final Editing Comments panel is completed.
