Deleting an entity through configuration maintenance
- Go to Application Data > Configuration > Configuration Maintenance.
- On the Query tab, use the standard IEE Using the search utility dialog to find the configuration data to delete.
- From the Results tab, select the entity to edit by clicking
. A new tab appears showing the entity's tree.
- On the entity's tab, highlight the entity to delete, then right-click and select Remove <entity name> from the pop-up menu.
If there is data attached to the entity, a warning dialog appears verifying that the entity and all related links and entities will be deleted if you continue.
If there is no data attached to the entity, a warning dialog does not appear; continue to step 6.
- To delete the entity, click OK. To return to Configuration Maintenance without deleting the entity, click Cancel.
- Click Save to commit your changes, or close the window without saving to discard.
Note: When you click Save, IEE verifies that the delete request will not corrupt your database. If IEE detects any errors, it notifies you of the errors and does not process the request. To delete, you can make configuration changes and then reattempt the save. However, the only way to recover an entity deleted from memory is to re-query the database.
