Performing a meter swap (program-based)

1. From Application Data go to Program-Based Configuration > Meter Swap.
2. Search for the existing meter instance by Service Point or Meter. (Follow the standard IEE Using the search utility rules.)
3. Select the checkbox of the meter to replace.

   Note: You can select multiple meters for the new meter to replace. For example, you can replace two 2-channel meters with one 4-channel meter. However, you can only configure one meter swap at a time.

4. Optional: Change the Status (for example, to Decommissioned) and End Read (to set the final read) for the existing meter.
5. Click Replace Selected Meter(s).
6. Enter the Meter ID of the new meter and click Search.

   Note: If the new meter doesn't exist in IEE, you will be prompted to go to Configuration Maintenance to create it.

7. Enter the Swap Date. This is the date the new meter replaces the existing meter.
8. Optional: Change the Status of the new meter. For example, you can set the new meter immediately into Active status.
9. If the new meter has register channels, enter the appropriate Start Read for each channel. For example, not all new meters have an initial start read of 0. The read entered here will be used when the meter change occurs, on the swap date.
10. Click Save.
