Roles
The Roles page is located under the Platform Security menu. Use this page to create custom roles with permissions that limit or allow access to different portals, dashboards, and functions in Itron Analytics. You can also remove and modify roles that have already been created.
Roles are made up of one or more function types (such as Administration or End User). Function types allow access to a set list of apps (such as Admin Portal or Customer Portal). Optionally, access to individual apps can be restricted. Some apps have special functions (such as Remote Connect/Disconnect function in the Customer Service app) that can be denied.
Caution: Ensure that at least one role with a user always has access to the Security function type, Admin Portal app, and does not have denied functions. This ensures that your utility will always be able to edit roles and users.

Itron Administrator. This role is intended for Itron Employees. It can access the Customer Portal, Analytics Portal, and all menus of the Admin Portal except Platform Security, Customer Portal Security, and DI Configurations.

DI Itron Administrator. This role is intended for Itron Employees and is only available for Itron Analytics deployments that include Distributed Intelligence. It has the same permissions as the Itron Administrator, plus access to DI Configuration and DI Subscription.

Security Administrator. This role can access the Customer Portal and the Platform Security and Customer Portal Security menus in the Admin Portal.

Customer Administrator. This role is intended for utility employees. It can access the Customer Portal, Analytics Portal, and the following menus of the Admin Portal:

DI Customer Administrator. This role is intended for utility employees and is only available for Itron Analytics deployments that include Distributed Intelligence. It has access to the following menus of the Admin Portal:

DI Subscription > Subscriptions

End User. This role can access the Smart Grid and Customer Service pages in the Analytics Portal but cannot use the Remote Connect/Disconnect feature.

Operator. This role can access the Import Monitoring dashboard in the Admin Portal.
