Downloading the FDM application files or installation wizard

  1. Go to the Itron Access Web site, https://access.itron.com.
  2. Sign in to the site, using the user name and password e-mailed to you by Itron.
  3. On the Home tab, under the Products list click FDM Tools.
    • If FDM Tools does not appear in the Products list, do the following:
      1. Go to the Products tab and click View All Products And Solutions.
      2. Click F to filter the results to only products that begin with F, then locate FDM Tools.
      3. Click the star to make it a "favorite."
      4. Return to the Home tab. FDM Tools now appears in the Products list.
  4. Under Product Downloads, select the appropriate file, depending on the type of mobile device you will be installing FDM on.
    • If you want to install FDM on an FC300 handheld, click the zipped folder icon () beside FDM vx.x Mobile Application Files for FC300 (North America), where x.x is the software version number you are downloading.
    • If you want to install FDM on a laptop or other PC/Tablet, click the zipped folder () icon beside Field Deployment Manager for PC, Version x.x, where x.x is the software version number you are downloading.
  5. When the system asks whether you want to open or save the zipped file, click Save and specify your computer’s desktop as the directory to save the file to. The system downloads the FDM zip file to your computer’s desktop. The name of the file is either Fdm.FC300.zip or MobileClientSetup.zip, depending on which mobile device you downloaded it for.
  6. Your next step depends on whether you are installing FDM on a handheld or on a PC/Tablet.
    • If you are installing FDM on a handheld, right-click the zip file, select Extract All.

      Specify \. . .\Desktop\Fdm (the default folder) as a destination folder. Then click Extract.

      This creates an \Fdm folder on the Windows desktop containing all FDM application files. Your next step is to copy the folder with its files to the handheld. See Installing the FDM Mobile Application on a Handheld.
