Recommended: Use of domain, user permissions, and/or local security policy settings to disallow operating system users from setting or changing the operating system's time.

Installing the server client

Note: Your connection to the FDM server must be a high-speed Internet connection. FDM does not support dial-up connections.

  1. Open a Web browser window.
  2. In the address box, type one of the following address (as directed by customer support):

    https://fdm.itron-hosting.com/itron/

    or

    https://fdm-ow-riva-tools.itron-hosting.com/Itron

    Press Enter.

  3. The FDM server client installation program starts and displays the following window.

    The window lists prerequisite software applications. The installer will check your computer to see if these applications are already installed. If any of them are not present, it installs them automatically before it installs the FDM client.

    Click Install.

  4. The installer displays a standard security warning and confirmation prompt. Click Run.
  5. Do one of the following:
    • If all prerequisite software applications are already present on your computer, the installer prepares to install the FDM client.

      Skip step 6 and proceed to step 7.

    • If the installation program has determined that any of the prerequisite software applications is not present on your computer, it first installs the missing applications.

      Continue to step 6.

  6. Do one of the following:
    • If all prerequisite software applications are already present on your computer, the installer prepares to install the FDM client.

      Skip step 7 and proceed to step 8.

    • If the installation program has determined that any of the prerequisite software applications is not present on your computer, it first installs the missing applications.

      Continue to step 7.

  7. For each of the components to be installed, the installer displays a license agreement window.

    Click Install or Accept at each license agreement window that appears.

    The installer displays its progress as it installs the missing applications.

  8. When it has finished installing any missing applications, the installer displays the following confirmation prompt.

    Click Install.

    The installer displays its progress as it installs the FDM software on your computer.

  9. When it has finished installing any missing applications, the installer displays the following confirmation prompt.

    Click Install.

    The installer displays its progress as it installs the FDM software on your computer.

    Note: The following step is for a work orders installation only. When it is finished, it displays the FDM Connection Details window. The installer automatically fills in the window's boxes with the appropriate information. The installer automatically continues to the FDM logon window.

  10. FDM starts, and the FDM logon window appears.
