Feature flags

Important! The Environment > Feature flags section of the user Administration interface is available for cloud deployments only and is not visible within on-premises deployments.

Feature flags are used to incrementally roll out new functionality to a subset of users. Feature flags are enabled for a specific scope. Currently, the service supports the following scopes:

  • Environment scope. Determines that the feature flag is enabled for all tenants and tenant users in the environment.

  • Tenant scope. Determines that the feature flag is enabled for all tenant users under a particular tenant.

  • Tenant-User scope. Determines that the feature flag is enabled for the particular tenant user only.

  • None. This is used to disassociate a feature flag so that it is not associated with any environment, tenant, or tenant user.

Note: Feature flags are not necessarily used to enable features based on user roles or purchases. Roles and licenses are used for these purposes.

The Feature flags page contains a Features panel, which lists all features available within the environment, and a Tenants panel, which lists all tenants within the environment.

Tip: To locate a tenant in the list, click the search icon () in the page header, enter all or part of a tenant name, and press Enter. The results appear in the Tenants panel. To clear the results, click the X in the search box.
