Introduction to OHS

Itron’s Hybrid Connector is a solution whose only purpose is to securely transmit data from a customer environment to Itron’s Cloud environment in Azure. This data is not transferred or used anywhere else. The Hybrid Connector consists of the following components:

• On-premises Hybrid Connector Service (OHS)

• Hybrid Connector Proxy Service

OHS is a Windows service installed on your network to access an on-premises data source, such as the OpenWay Collection Manager on an OpenWay Riva network or the Advanced Metering Manager (AMM) on a Riva Gen5 network. Before Itron Analytics or other Itron Cloud Service applications can connect to a data source, an instance of OHS must be installed and configured.

Installing and configuring an OHS is usually done by an administrator and will require special knowledge of your on-premises servers as well as Server Administrator permissions.
