Transaction Properties Field Descriptions

The table below describes the properties fields in the transaction creation wizard for the following transaction types:

  • CATS change request (CATSChangeRequest)
  • Customer details request (CDR)
  • Life support notification (LSN)
  • Life support request (LSR)
  • Meter exchange notification
  • Meter fault and issue notification
  • Provide meter data request (PMDR)
  • Service order response (SOResponse)
  • Site access request (SOR)
  • Verify meter data request (VMDR)
Field Transaction Type Description
NMI All The 10-character National Metering Identifier.
From role All except CATSChangeRequest Based on the applicable market roles that can send the transaction that the organization is configured to run as. This can be LSNP (Local Network Service Provider) or MDP (Meter Data Provider).
To role All except CATSChangeRequest, and PMDR Based on the applicable market roles that can receive the transaction. If only one role exists, then that will be selected by default.
To participant All except CATSChangeRequest The list of participants that are configured in the system that match the To role, with the current participant by default. The field can optionally be restricted with any of these filters based on the From role:
  • Only those that have existed on the NMI for the To role.
  • Current participant only
  • Remove current organization’s participants from list
NMI suffix VMDR This field is enabled only if a valid NMI is selected. The NMI suffix drop-down menu will allow a selection from the valid NMI suffix options for the selected NMI.
Start date VMDR, CATSChangeRequest, PMDR By default, this field is one calendar day prior to the current day.
End date VMDR, PMDR By default, this field is the current day.
Meter serial number VMDR, CATSChangeRequest The drop-down menu includes valid Meter Serial Numbers for the selected NMI for the time period selected. If there is no end date, then the duration is indefinite. This field defaults to a blank value.
Reason All except PMDR Required field with a drop-down menu that varies by transaction type. CATS Change Request - Change Reason Codes
Customer Details Request - Customer Detail Request Reason
Life Support Notification - Life Support Notification Reason
Life Support Request - Life Support Request Reason
Site Access Request - Site Access Request Reason
Verify Meter Data - Verify Meter Data Request Investigation Code
Note Customer Details Request, VMDR, Life Support Request, Site Access Request Enter a description of no more than 240 characters. This field is optional unless the selected Reason is Other.
PMDR ID VMDR The drop-down menu includes existing PMDRs in the system for the selected NMI.
Datastream status CATSChangeRequest This field is optional and is blank by default. The drop-down menu includes options for Active or Inactive.
Read type Provide Meter Data Request This optional field allows the user to indicate why the PMDR was raised. This is information only and will not be sent to the MDP or affect processing. The drop-down menu includes the following options: Missing, Substitute, Estimate, and Other.
