MTS Work Orders

Note:  A work order is akin to a service order, but has been recorded in the customer's systems. Typically, a work order will match up with a service order, but this is not always the case.

The MTS work orders table (Search > MTS work orders) lists all work orders returned by the search filter. This feature enables you to locate specific work orders, view their statuses, and determine whether their reads have been sent to the market. For pending work orders, you can unlink them to prevent flagging in the event of a retailer change. The MTS work orders view is available to the Market Transaction Operator and Market Transaction Analyst personas only.

The date range defaults to the last seven days and is reflected in the Actual date column. To modify the date range, click the calendar icon () in the page header. You can select presets for Today, Yesterday and today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, This month, Previous month, or Custom range. The Custom range option allows you to edit the date range (the beginning date can be up to two years in the past). The data displayed on the page updates accordingly.

Tip:  To quickly locate a work order, click Search () and then select Work order number, Service order ID, NMI, or MDN transaction ID. In the search box, enter all or part of an identifier of the selected type. You can also use Boolean operators (such as AND, OR, and NOT) between additional search terms. Press Enter, and the results appear in the table.

The data can be sorted by any column by clicking the desired column header. By default, the table is sorted by the Retailer column. The table consists of the following columns:

  • Work order number. The numerical identifier of the work order.
  • Service order ID. The service order identifier. A service order can contain multiple work orders. However, each service order can be associated with only one NMI.
  • Participant. The retailer's participant identifier.
  • NMI. The endpoint's National Metering Identifier. A single NMI can be included in multiple work orders and service orders.
  • MDN transaction ID. If a work order is associated with an MDN transaction, this field contains the transaction identifier. If this ID is present, then the Sent read status is marked as SENT.
  • Sent read status. The status is marked as SENT if the work order is associated with an MDN transaction. Otherwise, the status can be PENDING, or EXCLUDED.
  • Actual date. The date on which MTS processed the work order.
  • Work order type. A type code for the work order. Hover over the code to reveal a tooltip description.
  • Work order status. The current status of the work order: OPEN, WORKING, COMPLETED, or CANCELLED.
  • Work order task. A task code for the work order. Hover over the code to reveal a tooltip description.
  • Updated by. The application that updated the work order. If an action has been performed on the work order, this field identifies the user who performed the action.
  • Update date. The date and time when the work order was last updated.

Tip:  To refine the work-order search results by known values, click the filter icon () to open a dialog box. From here, select any of the available items listed by Sent read status, Participant, Work order type (with tooltip descriptions), Work order status, Work order task (with tooltip descriptions), and Updated by.

The Actions menu () in the page header provides the following options:

  • Exclude. Applies only to selected work orders with a Sent read status of PENDING. This action prevents the selected work orders from being sent and changes the Sent read status to EXCLUDED. An excluded work order is unlinked from the database.
  • Export. Creates a .csv or .xlsx file that contains all work order information for the selected date range. The export will contain all rows returned by the current filter, unless one or more rows have been selected (in this case, only those rows will be exported). The export will contain only the columns displayed on the screen, in the same order. The export file can be used to send data to IEE or other external systems.
  • Column order. Enables you to adjust the order of the columns. The adjusted order will persist in subsequent views if you use the same device and browser.
  • Column visibility. Enables you to adjust which columns are visible or hidden. The adjusted visibility will persist in subsequent views if you use the same device and browser.
