Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP)

A protocol based on Extensible Markup Language (XML) for the exchange of structured information in the implementation of web services in computer networks. Soap can be used over any transport protocol, such as Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), HTTP Secure (HTTPS), Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), and so on.
