Viewing job details

Viewing the details for a specific job allows you to check the status and history of that job and its component stages and steps. All utility roles have permissions to perform this task. To open a job details page:

  • On the Jobs page (displays details of one application), click the title of the job in the Job column.

  • On other pages, click the title of the job. For example, on the Applications / Application page (displays details of a single application), navigate to the Jobs tab and click the title of the job.

The following fields or columns are displayed:

  • Details tab. This tab provides details about the job.

    • (Application-based jobs only) Application name. The name of the application the job is for.

    • (Application-based jobs only) Version name. The version of the application the job is for.

    • Target device or Target device group. The device or device group targeted by the job. Click this to open a detailed view with more information about the device or device group in the context of the job.

    • Organization. The tenant name associated with the job.

    • Job progress. A detailed breakdown of the job's underlying stages and steps. Click a stage to view its component steps. Click a step to view detailed system output logs.

Tip: The Operation ID and Correlation ID included in the system output logs are useful for troubleshooting and finding related messages in downstream components.

Tip: If a job ran before the job progress user interface was created, then the message "No progress information found for this job" appears.

Each stage and step contains the following information:

      • Status icon. An icon indicating the overall status of the stage or step.

        • Completed (). All devices completed.

        • Mixed (). Some devices completed, some devices failed.

        • Failed (). All devices failed.

        • Executing (). Currently running.

        • Pending (). Waiting to run.

        • Skipped (). Correctly skipped.

      • Name. The name of the stage or step.

      • Device count and status overview. The number of devices included in the stage or step per status.

Tip: Device counts per status are rolled up such that all underlying counts may be greater than the total number of devices in the stage or step. For example, the Canceled status is a subset of the Failed status, so the count of failed endpoints includes those that were canceled (instead of being in addition to). Also, device counts may change as a job progresses. For example, an operation that removes devices from a group would cause an overall job to have a lower device count.

Tip: The failed status overview includes devices that are busy, failed, invalid, paused, and unknown.

      • Duration. The approximate duration of the stage or step.

Tip: Stage and step durations are approximate and may run concurrently. The duration of a stage may be less than the cumulative duration of all steps under it.
