Approving application versions for deployment

UtilityTesters must approve application versions before UtilityManagers can install the version on devices. Version approval incorporates the following tasks:

  1. UtilityManagers or UtilityTesters submit an application version to UtilityTesters for review. For more information, see Submitting an application version for UtilityTester review.

  2. UtilityTesters identify the application versions to review. For more information, see Selecting an application version to evaluate.

  3. UtilityTesters assess the application version. This assessment is outside the scope of this document. However, it would likely involve installing the version on a select set of meters in a utility meter shop or other controlled environment and verifying that performance and functionality are acceptable.

  4. UtilityTesters approve or deny the application version. For more information, see Approving or denying an application version.
