User roles and permissions

IMS User

Create a service account user for IMS services. This user must have Admin privileges and belong to the Administrator group on each IMS server. As a best practice, configure the password with no expiration to prevent update issues for deployed IMS services. All prerequisite installation and service installation must be performed with this account.

AMM User

Create an AMM user account to make requests to the AMM web service for two-way commands. The following roles are required:

• Meter Administrator

• Remote Disconnect Operator

• UI User

• Stateless Authentication Role

DMS User

Create a DMS user account to make requests to the DMS service to retrieve meter information (ESN MAC-ID mapping data). The following role is required:

• DMS Read Only User

Note: It's possible to have a single user account for both AMM and DMS, but that user must have the required roles for both applications (AMM and DMS). In the Itron test environment, a single user account is used for both AMM and DMS with required roles.

TIBCO (JMS) User

Create a TIBCO user account to connect to the TIBCO server for retrieving messages from the queue. This user must have Admin privileges to create a bridge on a queue.
