Introduction to IMS

The Itron Integration Management Service (IMS) performs transformation and brokering of data between applications, for both Itron and third-party applications. Its main purpose it to provide a central point of integration from customer systems into the suite of Itron applications to reduce integration costs for utilities. It also allows Itron to support new standard integration formats without having to add that support to each and every application.

IMS facilitates the following functions:

• Integrations between IMS and the applications that use it

• The flexibility to handle various transports, data formats, and schemas

• End-to-end monitoring of data flowing between IMS and the applications

• Lightweight and scalable processing to support high scalability while keeping costs low

• Integration with other components of the Itron software platform
