PROD/SCALE environment
Use the following configuration for the PROD/SCALE environment with one million to two million endpoints. For other endpoint quantities, refer to the sizing table at the bottom of this page.
Note: The data storage size varies based on the number of endpoints. Refer to the IMS sizing spreadsheet for disk size. Click here to download the IMS sizing spreadsheet.

If supporting more than two million endpoints, increase the PostgreSQL CPU to 8 cores with 32 GB RAM. The application server number should be based on the endpoint count shown in the following table.
Endpoint Range (million) |
Number of Application Servers |
---|---|
≤ 1 | 2 |
>1 and ≤ 3 | 3 |
>3 and ≤ 5 | 4 |
>5 and ≤ 7 | 5 |
Note: Add one server for every two million endpoints after exceeding five million endpoints. For high-speed message processing, add one server for every one million endpoints. These server configurations assume an interval length of five minutes with an export every 15 minutes.
