Defining pulse conversion
Because Itron OpenWay only has raw pulses, IEE must convert the raw pulse data provided by Itron OpenWay to energy readings. This calculation multiplies Itron OpenWay raw pulse data by the Ke (pulse weight), and the CT and PT values applicable to the given service point channel. The Pulse Multiplier, which is a field on the Interval Channel entity in IEE, is used for this purpose. The Pulse Multiplier = Ke x CT x PT. Therefore, IEE must apply the following formula to the raw pulse data:
Energy Units = Raw Pulses * Pulse Multiplier
The following formula expresses how pulse readings are converted into energy readings. Energy = Pulses * Ke * CT * PT
Earlier versions of Itron OpenWay, version 1.5 and prior, provided two sets of reading data to IEE:
-
Raw Pulses
-
Weighted Pulses (raw pulses with Ke applied)
