Configuring AMI Communications system settings

Two-Way Control communication with the Itron OpenWay Collection Engine uses the configuration settings from the IEE system settings. In most cases, the default values for these settings are appropriate.

Use AMI Communications to monitor the status of communications requests while they are in progress.

  1. In IEE, select System Administration > System Admin > System Settings.

  2. From the Section dropdown menu, select AMI Communications.

  3. Configure the following parameters:

    File Batching Size Threshold in Bytes

    Enter the batch file size in bytes. The batch file is created when the data size exceeds this threshold. To enter the batch file size, click in the entry box and enter the number.

    File Batching Time Threshold in Seconds

    Enter the number of seconds to wait before IEE creates a new HVRI batch file. The timer starts when the last HVRI batch file is created.

    Maximum Interrogation Request Period in Days

    Enter the number of days for an interrogation period.

    Number of days to Keep Requests Before Purging

    Enter the number of days to keep the request before purging. The requests are stored in the DeviceCommLog.

    Polling Frequency in Seconds

    Enter how frequently IEE should poll Itron OpenWay. The default value is 5 seconds.

    Timeout for Asynchronous Operations in Minutes

    Set the time in minutes. The default value is 1440 minutes.

    Timeout for Interactive Operations in Minutes

    Set the time in minutes. The default value is 1 minute.
