Adding OpenWay to the external system code table

Define Itron OpenWay as an external system in the IEE External System code table. The ARI receiver uses these settings to communicate the appropriate configurations.

To configure the External System code table:

  1. Go to System Administration > System Admin > Code TableSetup.

  2. From the Code Table Selection list, select External SystemTable.

  3. Verify that the number '1' is entered in the Number of rows to insert onadd.

  4. From the Code Table Setup menu, click Add. The new row appears in the table.

  5. Configure the following parameters:

    • ID. Enter ItronOpenWay.

    • Description. Enter a general description.

    • Time Zone. Select the time zone of the external system.

Note: Set the Time Zone in this table to the time zone where the data is being read or collected. This may be a different time zone from the one where you are using IEE.

    • External System Type. Select the External System Type to the Recording Device configuration records that connect to Itron OpenWay.

    • IEE. Select EndpointUOMID. This is the method by which the collection system identifies meter channels in interrogation results data.

  6. Click Enter to save the values to the code table.

  7. Click Save.

Note: After updating this code table, restart the IIS service for the changes to take effect.

After defining Itron OpenWay in the External System Table, configure the service in the AMI Collection Systems table. For more information, see Adding OpenWay to the AMI Collection Systems code table.

Note: Make sure that the Collection System attribute matches the ID field in the ExternalSystem row. If you specify a different ID for the external system, update the CollectionSystem value to match the ID field.
