Active directory accounts

Two AD accounts are required and can be new or existing AD domain accounts:

• Platform Administrator. This account represents the first administrator who can log on to the UI and administer the security aspects of Itron Platform.

• IIS Application Pool Identity. This account is used by IIS to run the websites for Web UI. On the server where Web UI will be installed, add this AD account as a member of the IIS_IUSRS group.

Note: These accounts can be service accounts or user accounts, and you can use one AD account for both of these purposes.

This guide uses the following usernames as examples:

• Platform Administrator account: ieetest1

• IIS Application Pool Identity account: ieetest2
