TIM code table

The TIM code table defines values for the protocol interfaces used by ServiceModeXI to define the settable properties of a Translation Interface Module (TIM) for use by XiComm during interrogation of meters.

Use the following procedure to configure the TIM Code Table:

  1. Go to System Administration > System Admin > Code Table Setup.

  2. From the Code Table Selection list, select TIM Table.

  3. Use the Number of rows to insert on add dropdown menu to select the number of blank rows to add to the code table.

  4. From the Code Table Setup menu, click Add. The new rows appear in the table.

  5. Click to select each row added and configure the parameters for each TIM.

  6. Click Save.

TIM parameters:

  • TIM ID. The identifier for the Translation Interface Module (TIM).

  • Description. A text description for this entity.

  • Program Name. The executable program associated with the TIM number.

  • Manufacturer. The manufacturer of the device.

  • Model. Defines the device model.

  • Protocol. The protocol in use

  • Call In Baud Rate. The default call-in baud rate (300-9600).

  • Last Try Baud Rate. Defines the baud rate used for the last scheduled remote interrogation for this TIM.

  • Extended Information Format. Defines the format to use for editing the device-specific information.

  • Inbound Schedule Resolution. Defines the number of seconds between calls on the inbound schedule.

  • Primary Inbound Retry Delay. Defines the time to wait between retries for primary inbound calls.

  • Secondary Inbound Retry Delay. Defines the time to wait between retries for secondary inbound calls

  • Foreign Maintenance Program. Not currently used.

  • Bits Per Interval. The number of bits per interval for the load profile data stored in the recorder and retrieved by the TIM; valid choices are 4, 8, 12, or 16 bits.

  • Device ID Length. The length of the Device ID for this type of recorder.

  • Device ID Type. The type of Device ID (numeric, alphanumeric, hexadecimal) for this type of recorder.

  • Password Length. Defines the length of the password for this type of recording device.

  • Data Bits. The value for the number of data bits transmitted by the TIM; The valid values are as follows: 7 or 8 bits.

  • Stop Bits. The number of stop bits in data transmission (0/1).

  • Call In Tone. The tone (Originate or Answer) generated by a recorder when it calls in.

  • Partial Intervals Supported. Defines whether this TIM supports partial intervals for the files created by the device or only saves complete intervals.

  • Get Connection Message. Command to be used when the call in TIM is not blank.
